Activities

Paper and color on a craft table

Art and crafts

Projects stay simple: a card, a painted stone, a bunch of flowers from the yard. Large brushes and short sessions work for stiff hands and for days when attention is brief. Nothing has to be finished.

Games

Cards, a puzzle, or a short round of bingo give people a reason to sit together. Winning is nice. Leaving the table when you are tired is also fine. Familiar games do more for the afternoon than a complicated new one.

Two musical notes in a quiet room

Religious

If you want to keep a service, we help you get there or ask a minister, priest, rabbi, or lay visitor to come to the house. Prayer and scripture stay optional. We follow the tradition you already have.

A small screen ready for a movie

Movies

Movie time is a chair, a familiar film, and the option to talk through it. We keep a short shelf of pictures people already know, and we stop when the room gets restless.

Recreation

A daily walk, even a short one, is the usual plan. Seated movement covers strength, a stretch, and balance for anyone who is unsteady. If a doctor orders physical or occupational therapy, those visits happen at the house.

  • Walking for stamina
  • Light strength work
  • Stretching
  • Balance practice to lower the chance of a fall

Relaxing massage

A light massage can ease stiff shoulders and help someone settle before a nap. The pressure stays gentle. Anyone who does this work here is used to older joints, thin skin, and the right to say stop.
